I do not usually buy a lottery ticket, but if I have a chance to win the lottery, I will happy to accept the chance. I would rather act calmly and carefully than boast of my luck to others because it could generate jealousy that can make a dispute.

Above all, I would like to do two things. First, I think it would be better to give most of money to my parents because fortunately I have no greed for money. What I want to have are just some books, a new laptop, and some money for a long journey. It would be more valuable to spend the money for my parents in order to receive a reward for a hard time in raising their kids.

Second, I will quit my studying for a while, and then leave for traveling around the world. I have wished the world trip. However, my situation as a penniless graduate student prevents me from dreaming of flying to other countries. Besides, It is a not a trip but a voyage around the world!

Traveling other countries is a wonderful experience. For instance, I traveled to Singapore one year ago. The city is such a beautiful city that I was deeply impressed in that skyscrapers and the beach are harmonized well. However, what I regret in the trip is that for my shyness, I cannot start a conversation with people, who are also visitors just like me. If I had approached them, I would have still many friends from overseas. I know that winning the lottery may be impossible, but if I had a chance to travel all over the world, I should be more active than ever before.

Yesterday is was my mother’s birthday. I would like to write about her for celebrating the day. She was born in 1961. Although her family was rich enough to have a kitchen maid, her family’s fortune became on the wane because of a fraud. Her mother had to work as a street vendor to support the family and to educate my mother.

After graduating from high school, my mother had a job in which she developed pictures. During that time, she met her husband and they got married after five years love. She gave birth to three children, my siblings and me. She has to do many works jobs from serving pig’s feet through working as an insurance salesperson to raise her children as her mother did.

In retrospect, she seemed to act like a superman. Not only did she work to support my family, but she also brought up the three troublemakers. Although my mother had a full of affection, she was very strict when her children fought each other. I think that her principle, a quarrel between siblings is not allowable, makes strong friendship among us.

When her children were grown up, she wanted to learn more knowledge especially educating child because she wanted a new work, managing a nursery school. Learning could be challenging for her in her age. Nonetheless, she made it, and finally she opened a nursery school. She has managed the nursery school for about 10 years.

I take pride in my mother due to her sincerity. She gets up early morning to give school children a ride. Also, she thinks a constant learning important not to get left behind. Thanks to her creed, I easily decided to go to graduate school.

When asked about places for visitors, I will answer two places; one is the national museum of Korea, the other is the Jeju Island. The former has a number of things which can make Korean culture understandable; the latter has beautiful sceneries that make tourists satisfied.

First, a museum has important cultural and historical objects, which provide tourists with a good chance to learn about the culture of a country. In the case of the national museum of Korea, many exhibits are classified according to the Korean history ranging from prehistoric times to modern times. For example, the museum displays an effort of Koreans in the period of Japanese Occupation to achieve independence against Japan’s military regime for 35 years. That makes understand why the relationship between Korea and Japan has been cold. To sum up, watching items of museum may be helpful for visitors to give knowledge of a life style and a way of thinking of Korean people.

Second, I think the Jeju Island is the most beautiful place in Korea. I traveled there 4 years ago. Despite a long time, I distinctly remember beautiful natural objects such as fresh air and a blue sky. It is beneficial for me to travel the island for rest. I believe that tourists who stay in this island have a feeling like me.

Some people may recommend consumption activities such as eating exotic food and shopping. However, these recommended two places can be visited only when you are in here, not in other countries. In this regards, I strongly recommend that these two sites are necessary for tourists visiting Korea.

Recollection of last year

The biggest difference between 2014 and 2015 is what I learned. In 2015, I entered a graduate school and started to learn philosophy of science. The reason why I decided to study is a curiosity about science. When I was an university student, I knew that although science has problems which are not explained by science theory, scientists postpone solving, and they do not regard them as critical to a science theory. That curiosity made me determine to enter the school.

Learning philosophy of science as a graduate Student, I had a hard time in Studying in 2015 for two reasons. First, since I learned chemistry in university, it was unfamiliar for me to study philosophy I’ve never learned before. Making arguments, and unfamiliar concepts and terms seemed difficult for me to understand. In that situation, I felt like trying to get along with a new friend, philosophy of science.

Second, I encountered a language barrier because I had to read a lot of textbooks of great philosophers written in English. It is necessary for graduate students to read many texts, so good English reading skills like rapid and exact Reading are essential. Therefore, I had to make an effort to improve English reading skills to adapt life of graduate school.

In spite of these difficulties, I believe that I can get used to be to school life by maintaining positive mental attitudes. Also, I’m satisfied with my school life in that I improved an ability to make a sharp question. I believe that the hard time when I read texts and write critical essays will be turned into a golden time in the future.

Essay 1

Should the use of cellphone be banned??

There are different opinions concerning about prohibiting people from using the cell phone. Some people disagree the ban. They argue that it needs for the purpose of important calling. However, I believe that not using cell phone is more beneficial. Because, talking on the cell phone keep people from concentrating. And it has possibility of dangerous accident due to multitask.

First of all, talking on cell phone in public place makes people annoyed. In other words, it is too noisy to concentrate on work. It is very rude manner. For example, I have watched movie in theater with my family. When I saw movie funny, I heard cellphone ringing. It drives me crazy. Others in theater too. I realize that the cellphone should be banned. Due to its harmful.

Secondly, A dangerous accident maybe taken place by using it. To explain, while talking on cellphone, you do multitask. So possibility of accident increases. For instance, one of the reason of traffic is cellphone. When we are talking while driving, it is more difficult to control.

Although it may ne needed, but it is necessary banned for these reasons. In the conclusion, I believe that banning the cell phone make people more safe and concentrate. Therefore, I agree this ban.
